Q&A
How do I get from the
host families home to the volunteer location?
Usually participants stay in the city and take
public transport like the city bus. Bus
timetables and route maps are provided. If it
suits the hosts schedule and routine they may
assist with transport.
What if I want to have a break during my
volunteer placement?
As long as you inform everyone involved with
adequate notice you may take a break from your
volunteer work. Of course if you are not feeling
well you should contact your supervisor and take
a break.
The Volunteer program is designed for adults to stay with a New Zealand family and experience helping a local business or institution. Many volunteer positions are set up at primary and intermediate schools.
