Stuart Cundy is the director of Lets Homestay, Tauranga, and has over 16 years experience with Japan. 

Starting in 1992 he worked as an English teacher in a high school on the JET programme.  From 1994 to 1997 he worked as a Japanese speaking guide in Queenstown for Tanken Tours.  Since 1997 he has been based in Tauranga bringing in hundreds of young visitors each year to the Bay of Plenty for educational homestay experiences.  Stuart travels to Japan regularly to meet with agents and schools.  In 2006, 2007 and 2008 he took his young family for 2-3 months each year and lived in Hyogo prefecture near Osaka.

Stuart has strong ties with Hitachi City through Tauranga's sister city relationship and has been there many times.  His vast knowledge and understanding of Japan and Japanese culture will help you understand some of the cultural differences and allow you to get the most out of your experience.
